Local-First Privacy

Heaper's local-first architecture means:

• Your data lives on your device first — not on someone else's server
• Offline by default — Heaper works without any network connection, the selfhosted server also does not need internet to work.

Cloud Service (heaper.de)

If you use the hosted cloud service at heaper.de:

• Data is stored on servers in accordance with our privacy policy
• GDPR-compliant data handling
• You can export your data at any time
• You can delete your account and data

Self-Hosted Privacy

Self-hosting gives you maximum privacy:

• All data stays on your own infrastructure
• No telemetry or analytics sent to Heaper
• You control backups, encryption, and access
• No dependency on external services
• licenses are perpetual so you can use the version you installed forever. (This includes updates that are required to stay compatible with the latest version of the app too)
